The International Maritime Organization’s Fourth R&D Forum on Hazardous, Noxious Substances (HNS) in the Marine Environment will be
held alongside the Interspill 2009 conference and exhibition.
The forum will examine research and development in the field, looking at
assessment, detection, response strategies, and health and safety issues,
arising from HNS spills in the Marine Environment. The forum is being organised
in co-operation with Interspill and the French authorities, and will be co
sponsored by member countries. It is expected that up to 300 delegates from
member countries, other UN agencies, inter-Governmental agencies,
non-governmental organisations and research institutions will attend.
